Merrill resigns as Director, Flight Scheduling
Jason Merrill has resigned as Director of Flight Scheduling. His resignation comes just days after the hiring of two new assistants for Mr. Merrill. Jason has been with the airline for about three years, and he will be sorely missed. He has helped build this airline and has been a valuable asset... He created most of the flight schedules we have today. Executive management is discussing where the flight scheduling department will go from this point. Below is a statement from Jason Merrill. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been thinking about this for some time. Thank you all for your patience with me. Its with a great deal of regret that I am annoucing to you all today that I intend to resign as Director of Flight Scheduling effective immediately. In the past few months, my life has been busy enough that ASA matters have come last. I feel my lack of participation has been caused by increased time requirements at home and at work. I don't feel its fair to you all to have a Director of Flight Scheduling who can't commit hardly any time to the job. As I've seen, management has had to take up my workload and do it for me (the online searchable schedules and such) and it only seems proper I resign my management position. I appreciate the fun times I've had here with you guys, and feel we've accomplished a lot in the three years I've been with the airline. I would like to still check in here and there. I don't know if I'll have to be booted out of the management forum all together, or if there is still some small advisory or assistance role I can play with the airline, but I don't want to go away completely. At the same time, I can't really commit to any job requirements whether its having to do with the schedules, or just being a pilot. Thanks to all of you - its been great. But at the same time, I'm not leaving for good, just allowing my position to be filled by someone who can commit more time. This really is the best VA on the net!
