ASA celebrates five years, releases new website, retro DC-3
It was five years ago that we opened our doors, in September of 1998. Although we’re a few months late, we’d like to celebrate our five-year anniversary by giving you, our loyal pilots, a gift… two gifts, actually. You’ll notice that our website has been completely revamped. This new website is PHP based and was initially designed by the talented Jon-Kyle Mohr, and coding of the website was done by our very own Andreas J.. This is by far the most aesthetically pleasing and technologically advanced website we’ have ever had. If you browse the site, you’ll find brand new features… a list of some of the things you’ll find: -Script welcoming newest pilots from each hub to the airline
-Script showing current top pilot from each hub
-Script showing last filed flight report
-Script showing latest forum posts
-All new news system, complete with separate news on hub pages and human resources page
-Random header script that changes each time you visit the website
-Scripts on hub pages showing stats of how many pilots the hub hosts, how many pilots are on LOA, and how many hours in total the hub has logged
-Redesigned hub pages packed with more helpful information
-Fleet page has been redesigned, with mouse-over effects on aircraft images that show aircraft stats. Certain aircraft also have movies that can be viewed. This page also has an all-new screenshot gallery as well as a desktop wallpaper gallery, both of which will be updated often.
-Re-coded flight search, with more search fields Andreas J. has painted a Douglas DC-3 in a vintage Atlantic Sun livery as our second gift to you. This awesome bird can be downloaded from the Aviator’s Lounge. An Anniversary edition ASA livery will be introduced on one aircraft from the fleet within the next month. From the entire staff at Atlantic Sun Airways, we would like to thank you all for helping us get to where we are today. Without continuing pilot support, an airline can go nowhere. You’ve all done your part to make Atlantic Sun one of the top VA’s on the net. It’s been an awesome five years, and here’s to more good times ahead… Atlantic Sun Airways. Expect More.
